Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Senior Bid Manager, you will lead the opportunity from pursuit through to award. You will work on selected opportunities and lead bid strategies, solutions strategies, commercial strategies, teaming, and proposal strategies. A major focus for the Senior Bid Manager is to manage the transition from pursuit through the proposal process to where the opportunity is won.

The Senior Bid Manager will identify the resources required to pursue a bid, establish any infrastructures required, processes, any plans necessary, and manage their execution. You will raise the bar of the bid team – bring out the best in the team – to ensure the value proposition is presented in the best possible way.

You will own bid deliverables workstreams, confidently to multiple clients, be calm under pressure and work the team to structured deadlines. The Senior Bid Manager will develop bid plans in liaison with the sales team and solution owner and be responsible for managing them through to conclusion. You must be comfortable with writing and edit/review customer proposal documents and working with the central proposal management team. You will work in a corporate environment and within a team across Europe. You must be able to matrix manage a team of subject matter experts, including technology, business process, commercial and legal experts and provide sales process advice & guidance when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrable Bid Management experience, working across all stages of the entire bid process with a successful record of accomplishment, winning bids in a competitive market
  • Ability to see the wider perspective of what the customer is trying to achieve i.e. add value, not just be solution led
  • Able to work with large teams across multiple lines of business who may have objectives that are not always aligned
  • Demonstrable experience of complex bids for a technology organisation
  • Previous experience within Bid Management roles for opportunities in excess of $5m ARR with team size in excess of 10
  • You must be able to lead the bid process pre-RFX and post-RFX
  • Highly competent in use of MS Office tools
  • Demonstrate a sales orientation with an understanding of bid management best practice
  • Experience with bidding bespoke IT solutions, with an ability to think outside of the box
  • Experience of working with senior level management in a large corporate environment


  • Member of Bid Management professional body e.g. Association of Proposal
  • Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP)
  • Experience of Shipley bid management best practice
