Position Purpose:

The Bid Manager is charged with support of the Fiserv Sales teams to help facilitate the completion of the highest quality responses to RFx, delivering the response by or before the delivery date as defined in the RFx directions, and ensure the Fiserv messaging/themes/value propositions positioned for the deal are reflected in the response, all in support of positioning Fiserv to move forward in the sales cycle.

The Bid Manage assumes responsibility for managing/coordinating RFx responses/bids through the entire process or as a team member to complete the response. In this role, the Bid Manager will collaborate with various departments across the vertical business unit (BU) within Fiserv.

Business Description: The position is designed to provide management oversite to the RFP/RFI process.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate and prepare response to RFx

  • Create a master schedule that drives completion of our proposal
  • Organize the response team by identifying and communicating the roles and responsibilities for each member
  • Track the progress of the response to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Write compelling content to drive customer and prospect engagement
  • Compile content from team members into the final response, taking responsibility for overall quality and accuracy
  • Ensure writing is relevant, consistent, cohesive, and in the proper brand voice
  • Create the final document and oversee the production process
  • In addition to other duties, balance a proposal response load of that can at times include more than three proposals at a time

2. Maintain and synchronize RFP response databases with new and reusable content
3. Coordinate and assist with production of client-facing documents
4. Support follow up questions or final pitch if needed

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing or related field

Job Related Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of experience working within or in support of financial services industry
  • Minimum of five years proposal management experience
  • Well organized and detail oriented, able to track multiple project plans and due dates
  • Handle rapidly changing priorities and aggressive deadlines
  • Lead projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
  • Develop RFx specific messaging and win themes in-line with overall brand voice and language that is appropriate to the given opportunity
  • Excellent verbal, written and group communication skills with proven writing and editing experience
  • Detail oriented with in-depth knowledge and application of English grammar and ability to proofread all written materials including proposals presentations, and related documents
  • Superior follow through capabilities and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong content planning, strategy development, and management abilities
  • Able to maintain high level of diplomacy and adaptability with professionalism
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with limited supervision
  • Communicates with all levels of the organization, from highly technical to senior-level business leaders
  • Ability to adapt and apply the knowledge gained from experiences of several projects

Additional Skills/Knowledge:

  • Qvidian or similar proposal automation software experience
  • Ability to confirm solution fit and identify customer specific benefits that will help contribute to a unique business value offering
  • Ability to understand and articulate customer business requirements and develop the corresponding proposal design
